What to Check on Your Car In-Between Seasons

We’re all glad to see spring, but it can bring some of its own complications! As the temperature fluctuates, there are a few things you can do to help your Audi navigate the changing seasons:

  • Inspect your tires: Temperatures change a lot in the spring, causing your tires to rapidly lose air pressure.

  • A/C Check: You haven’t used your A/C all winter, so go ahead and turn it all the way to full blast to make sure it still blows cold air as it should.

  • Check your brakes: It’s always a good idea to keep on top of your brakes, no matter the season.

  • Check your windshield wipers: As the rain rolls in, make sure you have all the visibility you need this spring.

Just following this basic guide is a great place to start to ensure you’re set until next winter. If you find your car keeps losing tire pressure, or you need a new set of windshield wipers, visit our Audi Service Center in Bozeman.

When to Change from Winter Tires to All-Season Tires

Montana drivers know winter tires can save your life, but there’s no need to rock them all four seasons. Winter tires are softer than all-season or summer tires, which is helpful when driving in winter, but doesn’t help them out in the summer. That said, you don’t want to change them out too early, or you’ll risk another round of snow on the wrong tires. Usually, tire manufacturers recommend switching from winter to all-season or summer tires when daytime and nighttime temperatures are consistently above 45 degrees. This usually means you can swap your tires out in late March to mid-April to early May. If you’d like us to swap your tires this spring, schedule an appointment with us today.

Post Winter Damage Inspection

Snow and ice are tough for all cars, whether you’re driving an Audi Q5 or an A3. After a long winter, it’s a good idea to bring your car in for an inspection to get ahead of anything that might have popped up in the snow. We can do a quick inspection during your next service visit, just ask your technician to do a post-winter damage inspection alongside your next oil change or tire rotation. During our Spring inspection, we’ll do an undercarriage wash and protection treatment to prevent rust, while keeping an eye out for damage to your windshield, chipped paint and more.
